The Suit of Cups is talked about as being a suit of creativity, emotion, and connection. It’s also talked about as being a spiritual suit, and an intuitive one. These themes can all be united under a single umbrella of “Cups Energy.” I call this the Suit of Vibes.

What is Cup Energy?

Think about the last good holiday you celebrated with friends or family. There’s an ethereal, vibey feeling afterward that makes you feel full and happy. It is a feeling that people get after really good musical jam sessions, or— for the religious— after a really beautiful moment of worship. Your cup is full. You feel centered. Your soul feels at home, and yet connected with others. We feel full and recharged, ready for inspiration and action. Our intuition is dominant; the world feels clear through the vibe it’s giving. That’s the energy of cups.

Cups are associated with water. The energy of cups can make us feel full and in our vibes. It can also flow between people or in communities, connecting us. It can isolate us if we get too deep. It can rise and fall like a tide.
