The Empress is potentially pregnant on this card, and is quite obviously pregnant in some versions of the Tarot. The fertility of The Empress is often a focus of this card’s interpretations. She is a woman stable in her power and in her ability to produce. While this card doesn’t necessarily mean literal pregnancy, it is a card of patient production and eventual benefits. It is a card of gardening and the harvest. It can represent parenthood, household stability, and generally having your needs met.

When reversed, The Empress indicates household instabilities or delays in your harvest. You may be prevented from tending your metaphorical garden or unable in some way to watch it grow. Perhaps your harvest was bad, or perhaps you’re simply prevented from tending your own garden.
