In case you couldn’t tell from the image, this is the card of loss, heartbreak, and inner turmoil. It doesn’t necessarily connote romance, but rather the heart being in a turbulent state: stormy from loss and strife. How can we transmute the pain to clarity? Is it the pain of truth? This card can also be thought of as the need for clarity of thought on three or more related things.

When reversed, the card shows loss, but not as disastrous. Reconciliation may come! It can also indicate that someone is unwilling to accept loss and heartbreak that has occurred. To take the swords out, the first step to healing is acceptance.
