Swords is the suit of mental clarity, the kind you need during hardships and conflict, and the kind you gain through experiences of the same. This suit describes different situations and conflicts and scales them up with the need for clarity and potential wisdom to be gained. It starts with the Ace, the simplest manifestation of Sword energy: a revelation.

The Ace of Swords represents clarity of thougth and reason. It is the feeling of the clouds parting and the cold air coalescing around your conclusion. This is the card of directness as well, both in thought and action. You’ve come to clear conclusions, and they’re the kind you’d be ready to fight for.

When reversed, the Ace could indicate a need for clear thought, or the consequences of it. When we have these moments of clarity, they can clear things up for us internally but cause some conflict and complications externally when we act on them. The Ace reversed can be both the moment of clarity and the complications it brings.
