The Five of Wands shows a fight in progress, but one done with blunt objects. No one is out for blood, but it’s still a battle. This card represents squabbles and infighting, or perhaps inner-fighting and frustration. Usually, the fighting is about trivialities: egos, competition, or aspects of the self. It can also signify competitions more generally.
When reversed, the Five of Wands indicates that the fight appears to be over. It may truly be over, or it might be reaching a new, nastier, more secret stage, in which dishonesty and deception abound.
