The Seven of Wands

Pushed to the Brink

Upright

Fighting back when pushed into a corner.

Reversed

The need to strike.

The figure in the Seven of Wands is backed onto the edge of a cliff, threatened by six staves. This is the card of fighting back in the face of injustice, especially when you have a justified or righteous cause. It’s a card of defiance, and justified defiance: not winning in this case means tumbling off the cliff.

When reversed, the cliff is in full view. You need to strike before you fall off. You may be anxious about your position, or in doubt about your cause, or even worried about embarassment. But none of that matters. Realize where you are standing, and take action.
